Touring has always been an event to gather all members of a community or club. It has been a tradition in a motoring club, either motorcycles or cars. Ferrari Owners' Club Indonesia (FOCI for short), initiated a touring trip to Bandung, the destination venue is the Trans Luxury Hotel which is located inside the area of Trans Studio Amusement Park and Trans Mall.
We started the journey from the Galeries Lafayette Lobby at Pacific Place, Sudirman Central Bussiness Distcrict.
The first two Ferrari that arrived there was the FF and the 599 GTB Fiorano, after that members kept coming in from the 575 Maranello, a 360 Modena, Three 430 Scuderias, one 430, 599 GTO, California, Two Yellow 458 (one belongs to Mr. Ahmad Syahroni which is the president of FOCI) and uniquely a Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. Members were having breakfast as we took photos of their pure breed horses.
At 7.00 AM we set off from Pacific Place to the Trans Luxury Hotel. We went through Semanggi and then onto the toll. This is when the fun part starts. We took a ride in Mike's M5, Will's Lotus and Cornelius's Call Of Duty Rubicon. To tell you the truth, the Rubicon cannot catch up with the group, only the M5 and Lotus caught up, while the Rubicon has to wait for a traffic jam so we could catch up. Nevermind that, we were endulged with the sound produced by those V8's and V12's, we didn't have much sleep but hearing the sound of Ferraris passing by we were never as awake as we did.
Approximately 2 hours later we arrived at the Trans Luxury Hotel and proceeded with the next part of the agenda, the charity. FOCI raised in total of 80 Million Rupiahs to be donated to foster homes and foundations that have been chosen by the comittee.
Before we had lunch, more pics! We just couldn't stand around looking at those rides, we had to capture it with our cameras. Who doesn't love a good picture? Even I do.
After having some very nice lunch, the members gather around each others group to just have some conversations, cigars, drinks and desserts. This year's event isn't as crowded as last years, but the atmosphere of the event still sticks. Then, after having some lunch we took a rest so we can catch the sunset from the 18th floor of the Trans Luxury Hotel. We've managed to take some beautiful shots of Bandung's night atmosphere.
On with the dinner, the Trans Luxury Hotel provided tasty foods. As Andrew Zimmerman said, "If it looks good, eat it.", and so we did. After we endulge our stomaches with butterflies, we gather some more energy to shoot more Ferraris.
The morning we go back to Jakarta. Most of the member had left the group but that didn't stop the fun.
Half way, we stopped at a rest area to say our goodbyes to the members and take pics of their cars. At last we arrived at the Lafayette Galery, and say our goodbyes and greatfulness to the commitee of the event. Will next years event be as fun as this year again? We'll see ;)
Here's an extra shot of yours truly and the awesome Ferrari/Abarth team! Special thanks to pak Arie, mba Devi, mas Eroe, and the rest of the dedicated team - we had an awesome time!
