The basis of brotherhood is completing one and another - it can also be referred to as a Fraternity (if any of you are US college graduates, you'll know what I mean). As we know, creating a social community to become a brotherhood is not easy. It's not as easy as frying an egg, nope it's not that easy. As we know SCCi is one of the biggest supercar club in Indonesia, and what's more intriguing is that the members of SCCi don't prefer to call themselves as "members" but more as "brothers".
At Sunday the 21st of July 2013, they held an afternoon run and charity event organized by Speed Creed. Our SC team and the SCCi members gathered at SCBD Fairgrounds - there were also a few SC Gold members that showed up by SCCi's invitation. It was crowded and unfortunately, it was raining hard when we got there.
When the rest of the crew got there, the entire Fairgrounds was packed. There were Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, and many more. I can't describe it one by one because more than 40 cars showed up. There were a lot. All members showed up and would greet each other like they haven't met their brother in years.
After all the members showed up, Speed Creed held a short briefing in regards to the cruise safety and media guidelines, and we were ready to go. Even the police who escorted us were just as excited about this event despite fasting.
On we go with the run to the Soekarno-Hatta Airprort toll.
All I can tell was the Aventadors and Murcielagos were screaming their V12s out loud, with the Gallardos rocking out their V10s and endless howling of Ferrari's V8s and V12s. Not to forget the 911s and Carrera's flat six engines making a nice and sweet noise off their exhausts. Not to mention the SLS' amazing 6.2 litre engine passing by, the Z8's stunning body, Maserati's super loud V8 and R8's V10 silent but gold sound - it was like Glasgow '013 with supercars as bands on a big gig. Oh! It was going so fast that I almost forgot to mention the McLaren. Well, driven by the laws of physics the McLarens just flew by every car on the road.
We then reach Plaza Senayan for the auction and donation event which was held inside XXI's Premiere Hall. Some members didn't attend this part of the event, but the atmosphere didn't change. Before the auction we held ourselves a private photo shoot of our own.
The members were given a chance to have themselves photographed infront of a photobooth that we provided and were given a goodie bag.
Soon, the auction started. Bidding items varied from a 1989 wine to John Terry's football jersey - in total, we raised Rp 319,000,000 to be donated by SCCi - a great sum to be given to two non-profit organizations that day. Here we see the big and generous hearts of SCCi members indeed!
We'd like to thank the President of SCCi Mr. William Tjandra for having us as the EO and Media Team for this event. Not to forget the kindness of SCCi's members for having us also and giving us a big hand on this event. Special shoutout to all Speed Creed crew for doing such great job on this event. We also like to thank our sponsors, The Djakarta Auto, LLumar Window Films, Wien's Sticker, Renovo, Fer FX, Indosurya Inti Finance, and all the other sponsors that help made this event possible.
Full Set of Pictures by our talented photographers will be posted HERE
Last but not least, the video of this event would be posted soon. I'll give you readers a bit of a clue, it has 8 sets of blades and it flies! And we're using it! So stay tuned for the video. Cheers!
