  • [SC NEWS] Ferrari Festival of Speed: The Rendezvous

The Ferrari Festival of Speed is, to quote Ferrari Jakarta, a “sportaiment” event combining sport and entertainment. Whatever that is, it’s a big event with over 200 Ferraris present. Of course with such a big event, other sports cars and supercars communities were invited to attend the event and enjoy the Festival of Speed. Before the main event that took place at BSD City, members of Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia (FOCI) as well as other VIP invitees had to meet up first before finally heading for BSD city.

At Senayan City, FOCI was lining up for a convoy around Jakarta before finally going to BSD, over 130 cars were in the lineup, including an Enzo was being driven to get to the event. You know it’s a special occasion when an Enzo is being driven instead of towed.

Right across Senayan City at Plaza Senayan, our community partner, Gaspolll, is getting ready as well before going to the venue, the lineup was stunning as per usual.

On any other day, Gaspolll’s lineup would be more than enough to make you drool, but since it was going to be a day of more than 200 units of Maranello’s finest – not mention the appearance of several the Gaspolll lineup looked a bit tamed. However…

The Ghost of Ängelholm! This Koenigsegg nearly single-handedly stole the spotlight from the Ferraris, every car enthusiasts in Indonesia has been losing their minds since the Swedish hypercar arrived in the country.

This Koenigsegg CCX Bespoke is an older unit of Koenigsegg’s hypercar which was discontinued in 2010, it was taken back to it’s factory in Ängelholm to be made into the Indonesian customer’s specification, and then sent in here to the country. The changes included a gearbox conversion from manual to an automated-manual with paddleshifts.

While the CCX is not exactly the most beautiful car to behold, the design is still stunning as it does look a lot like spaceship. With it’s dihedral doors and cockpit like design of it’s windows not to mention the invisible A-pillars from the outside, it really does look like something out of Star Wars.

While it isn’t the first Koenigsegg in South-East Asia – Singapore beats us to it – it is the first in Indonesia, and considering that the CCX goes up to 250mph, we can safely say this is the fastest car currently roaming the streets of Jakarta.

FOCI and Gaspolll soon left Senayan to go to BSD. We have no words, the sight of this many supercars convoying to celebrate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary has left us speechless.

Soon enough the group arrived at BSD city, FOCI went on to park inside the venue to have their cars exhibited, while Gaspolll and other VIP invitees parked near the ticket booth.

We really can’t get over this Koenigsegg. Even though personally I’m not a big Koenigsegg fan, it is wonderful car to behold. Surely, a Pagani is coming here next?

Soon enough, we went inside the venue to see the best that Ferrari has to offer during this event. Be sure to head over to our third article on Ferrari’s Festival of Speed for more supercars!
