  • [SC NEWS] McLaren 720S Lands In Indonesia

This is definitely one of our most anticipated super car to land in Indonesia for this year, the new McLaren 720S. The figures are impressive, and after seeing it with our own eyes, it is every bit as beautiful as we’d expect.

Lets get started with the performance shall we; it packs a new 4.0L twin-turbo V8 unit, churning 711 horsepower on to the rear wheels, propelling the car from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds. What’s not to love about that?

What we really love though from the 720S is the looks. The front does look a bit weird with the ‘eye-socket’, everything else is really rather lovely, especially it’s side profile, looks a bit like the Huayra, no? Anyway, what makes it so lovely is the fact that it doesn’t have the usual side-intakes behind the doors that pretty much all mid-engine cars have, that’s because the engine cools itself by using the double-skinned dihedral doors, where the air is channelled through them directly to the radiator. To be honest we’re not sure how it works, but the point is it makes the car looks good.

McLaren's latest Super Series weighs in at just 1200kg (dry) and with an upgraded chassis and suspension system, the 720S should be even better when it comes to handling.

The interior is usual McLaren business; very simple, luxurious, and top-notch quality. We particularly love the screen which can tilt and turn into a race car style rev-counter, sure it’s just a gimmick really, but imagine bringing that up on first date.

Tempted? Well there have been no exact pricing yet from McLaren Jakarta, they only said it’s going to be above the 10 billion IDR mark which is not a surprise really, but we’re pretty sure it won’t be as expensive as the all-wheel drive Aventador. If you are interested - like we are - why not give McLaren Jakarta a call? Oh, and take a look at some of the McLaren 720S that we’ve specced up here, might help you should you struggle with spec choices. You’re welcome.

Oh, and McLaren Jakarta, can we test this new baby of yours? Pretty please?
