  • [SC NEWS] Ferrari Jakarta Launches The 812 Superfast

Our biggest complaint about the Ferrari 812 Superfast when it first came out was the name, 'Superfast'. It wasn't Italian or exotic like 'Fiorano', or 'Portofino', or even 'Italia', it was just Superfast. But then again, with 789 horsepower, it is quite literally, Superfast. And if you've been waiting for this V12 beast, it's finally here.

Ferrari Jakarta had just revealed the 812 Superfast for the Indonesian customers, to recap, the 812 packs a 6.5L naturally-aspirated V12, that's 200cc bigger than the F12. This is probably the last ever Ferrari to ever pack a non-hybrid assisted V12 in their production car, future Ferraris will either have a hybrid powertrain or turbos strapped onto the engines, or even both, so die-hard purists, this is your last chance.

That said, this is the first Ferrari to incorporate electric power steering, and you can have your opinion on that, but so far we don't really like electric power steering, the feedback they give just isn't quite as good as hydraulic. That said, Ferrari said that "in line with Ferrari tradition, (Electric Power Steering) is used to fully exploit the potential of the car in terms of performance."

What do you think of the 812 Superfast? We don't really have an issue anymore with the name, but it kind of looks like a Dodge Viper from the front, and the steering wheel is really ugly as well, but the specs are very tempting. Interested? As per usual, dealers don't usually announce the prices for these cars, but expect it to go well over 12 billion IDR.
