  • [NEWS] Maserati Levante Trofeo Revealed

If for some reason you want a performance SUV that isn't a Porsche Cayenne or a Range Rover, well, good news; there's going to be a performance version of the Maserati Levante called the 'Trofeo'. Not that there was a shortage of performance SUVs to choose from, but okay. Here's what you might want to know:

A standard Levante comes with Maserati's 3.0L twin-turbo V6 with two power outputs, with the most powerful one churning out a decent 316 horsepower. The Trofeo will have quite an upgrade; a Ferrari-developed 3.8L twin-turbo V8 good for 590 horsepower, enabling the car to go from 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds and off to a top speed of around 300km/h. Not bad, eh?

On the outside the Trofeo gets a different air intake design along with new, albeit small, aerodynamic upgrades, and obviously more carbon fiber bits. The new and massive 22-inch wheels look incredibly nice as well.

Underneath the body meanwhile, the 'Q4' all-wheel drive system gets a unique calibration, probably to improve the Levante's handling and coping with all that extra power.

No pricing have been announced, but try making an inquiry anyway if you're interested, because the launch edition comes with unique eight different color options, not to mention all of the extra options are ticked.

We quite like the Levante Trofeo actually, it doesn't make any sense to buy a performance SUV other than a Cayenne or a Range Rover Sport, but the Levante Trofeo does look quite tempting.
