  • [NEWS] Spotted: Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Cabriolet Being Tested

Personally, my favorite Porsche 911 model would be the GT3 with the Touring Package ticked in; the combination of GT3 power, rear-wheel drive, manual gearbox, and without the ridiculous and ostentatious rear-wing. The only problem was that you can't get all this wonderfulness with an open-top...until soon enough, we think?

This black Porsche 911 was spotted testing with little to no camouflage at all, and judging from the wheels, the rear-bumper, the exhaust tips, and the lack of the a giant rear-wing, it's pretty clear that this is a Porsche GT3 Touring, but with a floppy canvas roof rather than a hard top, as you can see.

The GT3 Touring is the ideal 911 to have it's roof chopped off, think about it: the GT3 Touring emphasises driving excitement and enjoying every moment when you're behind the wheel rather than posting the fastest lap time at track weekend and boasting afterwards to your friends. Taking the roof off will make the GT3 Touring even better as a grand tourer.

The GT3 Touring packs a 4.0L naturally-aspirated flat-six packing 500 horsepower, paired with either a manual or a PDK gearbox depending on your preference, propelling the car from 0 to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds, which is more than fast enough for a touring car. It's very likely the cabriolet will follow the same recipe, with - maybe - slightly stiffer springs to reduce body roll as a result of removing it's roof. Interested?
